"The artist forges himself to the others, midway between the beauty he cannot do without and the community he cannot tear himself away from. That is why true artists scorn nothing: they are obliged to understand rather than to judge."
-Albert Camus

"What do most people say on their deathbed? They don't say, 'I wish I'd made more money.' What they say is, 'I wish I'd spent more time with my family and done more for society or my community."

What we do

The foundation’s funds come from a variety of sources, including individuals, families, organizations, businesses, corporations, bequests and living trusts. Funds are invested in perpetuity and a portion of the investment earnings are then distributed according to the donors’ philanthropic wishes.

The Grant County Community Foundation oversees three Agency Endowments, many Fiscal Sponsorships and eight planned gifts. During the past six years the foundation has sponsored a unified fundraising drive -- Give Grandly! -- raising over $683,000 for nonprofit organizations in a four-county area of southwestern New Mexico.

We invite you to join in building the Grant County Community Foundation. As we grow the foundation, we encourage your participation as a donor, as a volunteer, and as an advocate for philanthropic giving in our shared and vibrant community.
